If you don’t know by Chaos erupted last night at Smiff N Wessun / Pete Rock Release party when the police entered the scene. The event was peaceful and invigorating. The turnout was great from fans, artist, press and family. As far as inside it was beautiful even with appearances from Duck Down artist Buckshot, Rock, Top Dog, Black Rob. Also other guest from Memphis Bleek, Milky Dee, Zulu nation and so many others.
A fight broke out outside of the club that was quickly taken care of by club bouncers. Still inside no one knew of the fight outside security and select people. Police arrived on the scene and due to the fight(which had nothing to do with the event) and decided to end the party a few hours early. As the fans left the building the police forcefully tried to escort everyone(male and female) off the block while verbally abusing. Police begin shoving and when one person artist Louie Skaggs decided to speak up and remove the officers hands from his body they begin assaulting him. This lead to everyone becoming more rowdy and speaking out. When cameras came out and friends and family did not want to move police began swing at everyone.
Those unfortunate to be walking out of the club at the time were maced for leaving to slow. A few officers were even seen in yelling contest with club workers. The police escalated the situation to an necessary level, shutting down blocks. No one deserves the treatment that was received last night by the supposed New York’s finest.
Several people at the event did their best to calm down others in order to not make the situation worst. Artist Rockness monsta( 1/2 of group Heltah Skeltah) is seen dragged and swung at by over 5 cops while the whole time his hands are raised. At this time it is known that at least 6 people were arrested on various charges, a few others hospitalized including one officer. At the end of the event no press was able to get any feedback from the 7th preceint.
This is never called for and needs to be stopped. Stand up and speak and not silently amongst one another. let your voice be heard, Act.. !!! If you were there report it, if you have footage, pics post it..
If you have any footage from last night send it to me loweyesrecords@yahoo.com …
But back on a positive note the event was great thanks to everyone who came out, i hope you all enjoyed. Thank you for the love and support last night..
